Castle for sale: 40 rms, 7 turrets, fully finished dungeon

Real Estate – The Searles Castle has towered over the town of Great Barrington, Massachusetts for 120 years, its seven turrets and blue dolomite exterior creating a fortress at the end of Main Street. Now, the French chateau-style castle is for sale -- a $15 million property joining a small niche of the world's luxury real estate market.

I would be interested, but it has no "MOAT" which is a must on my list of things I have to have

And that moat must have hungry crocodiles in it, too!

let me see, how many cords of fire wood would I need for heating up this place?

The main problem is that it's in Mass.....

IF Bush moves in he can operate the country wholly from the castle. It has a dungeon for interogation. It has a throne where he can sign executive orders. and it has many shadow for Dick Cheney to lurk in.

Gonzolez can hide behind paintings with the eyes cut out.

That would be cool to live in! I could tell my husband"Off to the dungeon with you"!

That's a good selling point. LOL

If the price is too high you might get rooked!

I would buy the place, but it does not have a fire-breathing Dragon. A must when castle shopping.

If you can swing it (the castle), you can get your own dragon, just a small additional expense! Get one left over from Chinese New Year next year, cheap! Digging a moat might set you back some, though, and the permits for the crocs might be daunting to obtain.

No one who is going to buy a castle will want a Chinese Dragon. I mean seriously, why would you want a Dragon that looked all cartoon like? Give me one of those Western Dragons anyday.

Now what I would be shopping for if I had that castle. Would be to look for the color dragons. You know like have a Black Dragon for Holloween. A Green and Red ones on the walls for Christmas blowing their fire and acid breath creating a beautiful dispaly of presents and candy with smiling children in the background.

And on New Years at the Stroke of Midnight. You could have Platnium and Gold Dragons showering everyone with small amounts of treasure for the coming of the New Year.

Oh well, back to reality. Where is that F'n remote?

OH and use those Green Dragons again on St. Paddy's Day. Get him drunk on green beer. Bad thing about that would be, you would never know how drunk they are cause they would already be green.

Mac: You're really dragon, now! LOL

WOW, You are the master of ceremonies!

i'm betting it doesn't come with much land & i'm NOT giving up my 400 acres. now if it could be moved to NH, then we'd talk. also, crocs & alligators don't do well in NE. maybe i could just fill the moat with my german shepherds:~)

I think 61 acres is plenty of room.. Not quite 400 acres but I'm sure your German Shepards will have enough room to run!

Well, this is great news!

The lease on my one bedroom is coming up and the castle just entered the market. Since God knows that I've always wanted to live in a castle this has gotta be a sign from above!

And I've heard some posters on Netscape claim that God doesn't exist. For shame! What better evidence do you need?

Though I'm planning to rent out half of the rooms and all of the turrets so if you've ever wanted to live in a turret now is the time to say something.

It's not a bad looking castle..I don't think I would want to purchase it though.
